Why Tech Prep is Important to YOU?
In 2000, 85% of all jobs required education and training beyond high school
Through Tech Prep, high school students can attend college classes for a significantly reduced rate.
Students can also "test" out college classes and receive dual credit by enrolling in articulated courses at their high school.
In 1950, a high school degree was a ticket to a good job. Unskilled workers made up to 60% of the labor force in 1950.

Tech Prep is a national initiative that restructures traditional curricula and introduces new teaching approaches for secondary post-secondary levels.

Through Tech Prep, high school students gain the ability to:

AZ Tech Prep prepares students for the workplaces of tomorrow with:
- Team projects and hands-on experience in the classroom
- Job shadowing, guest speakers, internships and apprenticeships
- Integrated academic and vocational curriculum
- 2 + 2 Secondary/ post-secondary articulated programs.
Tech Prep Provides Students with:
- Employability and technological skills
- 2 + 2 certificate and degree programs
- Financial Aid for Books in articulated courses in college
- Transferable college credit for Arizona colleges and universities. High school students can receive up to 12 hours of dual credit for articulated courses at reduced rates.

| How you can participate
Incorporate applied projects and hand-on activities into your lesson plans.
Include work-based learning such as work-site tours, job shadowing, and guest speakers in the classroom.
Educate students about the programs available to them in high school and encourage them to take advantage of these opportunities.
Participate in Tech Prep Curriculum Development teams and use this integrated curriculum in your classroom.
